Here is a stunningly beautiful release from Jagjaguwar: the Richard Youngs song “Soon It Will Be Fire” from the 1998 EP Sapphie, which has been reimagined by Moses Sumney with Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
The song is available from Jagjaguwar’s This Is a Mindfulness Drill, a complete cover of Sapphie featuring Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Moses Sumney, Perfume Genius, and Sharon Van Etten.
Jagjaguwar re-released Sapphie in 2000, noting the Richard Youngs album was “one of the most important unheard treasures of the last half decade of the twentieth century.”
